Founded by local oligarchs and former KGB agents, Sheriff Tiraspol is the first Moldovan club to qualify for the Champions League… except to their owners, they aren’t Moldovan, but Transnistrian. Transnistria is an unrecognized breakaway state sandwiched between Ukraine and Moldova.
