Today, Singapore has built a robust, diversified and sustainable water supply from four different sources known as the Four National Taps (water from local catchment areas, imported water, reclaimed water known as NEWater and desalinated water). In the last five decades, Singaporeans have been enjoying good quality water as it has a sound watershed management, an effective water treatment processes and continued investments in R&D.
Our tap water is well within the World Health Organisation drinking water guidelines and it is suitable for drinking without any further filtration. This video explains why it is not advisable to use a cloth filter to filter our tap water as this may contaminate it.
